Department of Health West Midlands – The Big Drink Debate

drink debateCampaign: We worked with DH West Midlands to create a debate on how alcohol is consumed in the West Midlands. The debate took the form of a web-based questionnaire which we promoted in the media using a main regional media launch and a number of sub-regional launches. We also worked with partners to set up events in shopping centres where staff talked to customers and used PDAs to get answers to the questions.

Results: We achieved over 50 pieces of print coverage, over 50 pieces of web coverage, 30 pieces of broadcast coverage including 20 radio interviews with our spokesperson. There were 2,500 visits to the website in the first six days of the campaign and over 7,100 responses to the questionnaire. The campaign won the Public Sector category at the CIPR PRide Awards, and was runner up in the Public Affairs category.
